A LAYMAN'S BRAWN

Jaydev Patel

(1) "Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is achieved." ~Swami Vivekananda

(2) "Be the change you want to see in the world." ~Mahatma Gandhi

(3) "Don't worry when you're not recognized, but strive to be worthy of recognition." ~Abraham Lincoln

We all have come across these three quotes in our lives, the reason being the words are great and even the personalities who delivered them. As a layman, we always find such orators and their quotes fascinating, but what if we were them who said these words? Why don't we try to find the meaning of such proverbs by knowing what they actually mean?

Honestly, success tastes sweeter than anything when you've achieved it all by your own, by starting from the first step of the ladder, by increasing yourself from zero. Who else can understand this better than a common and ordinary man? Winston Churchill once said, "All the simple things are great" (like love, mercy, hope, etc.). I hereby pen down this for all of you to express that everyone of us is a Phelegethon, and we can bring down anything we want to rise up like the clouds and then rain on anyone's parade. Isn't it amazing to know that sapiens hold in a lot of strength inside them? Then why are we left behind sometimes? 'Dissatisfaction' is the word, my friends.

Some words just reach out till one line, but speak a lot. There is no place in this world wherein the power of the humans hasn't been talked about. Then why to be simple? Does being simple means non-existence of power? No. Everyone of us reflects a different personality, different traits, not when we grow up, but since we were created. Growing up and taking up things from our surroundings, digesting them, we become who we are today. But don't we run too hard to reach...wait, where? We don't even know our destination, do we? It never ends. It is a blog of quotes, so here I place forth some of mine to explain you "Who We Are".

• "Belief makes everything exist"

Wouldn't complicate it much, I promise. But when it comes to believing, it sounds inspirational, doesn't it? Friends, what's the difference between 'motivation' and 'inspiration'. Again, let's keep it simple. I can be your inspiration, but not your motivation. I can be your push, but not the one to take over your mind. I think self dependency is one of the major aspects of the word 'belief'. When we are asked not to think about 'something', that's the first thing that comes to our mind, why so? Because the brain is too haywired? No. We tend to consider it the most powerful, and hence it never stops its thoughts. Let your guard down for a minute, let the air through, calm your nerves down, just think about yourself and your capacities, and believe me...there will appear, a smile on your face. Believing is not hard, but we are hard to believe. Let's tend to leave ourselves to the brain and not the brain to ourselves, would make a difference, for sure.

• "I love failures because they're the pillars to success; and I love success because I've already achieved it from something I love (i.e., failures)."

Such a web of cognitions, right? Well, many of us are afraid to go out there in front of someone, or a group of people, or a huge audience to be loud enough and say what we want to say, to express ourselves, or to show what we feel? Frankly, when you're on the stage, you're already better than the audience. Not my way of consoling you, but it's true and you gotta accept it. Feeling negative is gonna drag you down, anyway. For an instance, think that 'so what'! We focus upon the 'What If's of life, but let's try to think 'So what' if this happens! Lastly, it's your life, live it for yourself. Because living it by the fear of someone, it's just surviving.

• "Time heeds and lags us behind only if we look upon it."

Talking about time, let's rewind the tape. According to the Indian Mythology, GOD created the universe. Okay, agreed (for an instance). So when they were creating it, everything was placed perfectly and lastly, ENERGY was left out. It was a dilemma for them so as to where should it be kept on the Earth. They said that let's keep it on some other planet, way far from the reach of the humans, but the creator replied, "These humans are too capable of going anywhere in this universe and find it out." (And as we know, we've been to Mars, Moon and almost everywhere). Then, it was buried inside our minds, because the world is too glamorous to keep us and our eyes busy, and we barely take the time out to look within. To understand that gigantic world my friend, you need to understand yourself first. I know that you only have one life and wanna make the most out of it, enjoy it! But you're already doing it, why not try something more pleasant than that! The problems of us humans is, we come to a conclusion without an experiment, but we don't know that we ain't the creators. The only thin line between God and Human is,

"Human is God asleep,

and God is Human awake."

So we better open our eyes first rather than experiencing the sad reality of our fellow mates.

• "Everyone's perfect in their own way, but people seek imperfections to feed their hunger of satisfaction."

Can't we take a moment to appreciate who we are? Maybe we think that we were born for a cause, which makes me laugh sometimes. If we were born for a cause, the world would've been a much better place today. Yes, nobody's perfect, but that's another way of saying that everyone's perfect in their own way. Considering the glass 'half full' is where we lack. I know looking at the brighter side of life sounds cliché, but have you tried it by giving your 100% as you give to the reality. The bitter truth is reality, but you know what's worse than that, your acceptance towards that reality. If your brain can make your body function, why can't it do anything else?

• "Choices may differ, some choose to paint their surroundings red with love, while some with blood."

Why do we cuss? Because we can't keep calm? No, but we are no different than the attention seekers who deserve the cuss. You know what happens when water runs down the rim of a vessel, it gets wasted. Exactly my point, your thoughts are no less than that when you over think to let them flow over your cranium. Now where's the acceptance of reality that everyone is different? Maybe we are placed perfectly, but we don't know how to place things perfectly.

• "Life is a game, so make opponents and not enemies."

Everyone wants their life to go smooth, without any hurdles in their path. Well, life's a game and that's how we tend to live it. Enjoying, entertaining, but with grudges in our minds sometimes. People who tend to believe in certain things like religious activities, norms, rituals, why do they find peace in temples? They think it's their happy place, right? According to them, it's their kind of a surrounding, what they actually need. But why don't they experience that thing in themselves? Because if they believe in the almighty, then I remember that Lord Shiva used to find peace in a graveyard, meditating there. I think this depicts the peace inside us and not what we have outside us.

To everyone who reads this, I just have a request. Look, I'm not a writer by profession, I'm a writer by perception. I haven't penned down anything great to be posted, but something that we witness everyday, but too blind to see. I think our nation requires a visualization of the people and not the government, because we exceed in number anyway. A layman can move millions and it can be seen in everyone, you, me and us. We just need to thrive for what we want.

Don't just read this, try and do what it says.

"Implementation the initiative to a result."
